Deep cleansing at F&A Medical Center
Deep cleansing thoroughly cleans congested or acne-prone skin. During the treatment, the skin therapist carefully removes excess sebum and impurities such as blackheads and spots. Where necessary, a sterile fine needle may be used to create a small opening so the blockage can be removed safely and with minimal risk of skin damage.
Before your treatment
Come to your appointment with clean skin and without make-up. Avoid shaving the treatment area on the same day to reduce irritation. Tell us in advance about illness or changes to your medication.
The treatment
The session begins with cleansing the skin. Impurities are then removed carefully and, where needed, a fine sterile needle may be used. This can feel sensitive. A 3% salicylic-acid solution may be applied when appropriate, followed by a soothing mask and a suitable cream, with SPF if required.
Recovery and results
After treatment, the skin may be red or slightly swollen, and small crusts can remain visible for four to six days. Acne can be persistent, but regular care may help control flare-ups and reduce new impurities. Improvement takes time and the skin can temporarily look worse before it settles.
Treatment frequency
The frequency depends on the severity of your acne, with intervals of one to six weeks. As the skin improves, appointments can become less frequent; during maintenance, one treatment every six to eight weeks is often sufficient.
Aftercare advice
- Use suitable skincare and daily sun protection with SPF 30 or 50.
- Do not squeeze spots and avoid touching the skin unnecessarily.
- Avoid saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.
- Maintain good hygiene at home, including clean pillowcases and make-up brushes.
- If needed, use breathable camouflage make-up such as Lycogel SPF 30.
Follow the personal aftercare instructions from your therapist. Use gentle products, protect the skin from the sun every day and allow enough time for recovery.
When treatment is not suitable
Treatment may not be suitable if you have a fever, certain immune disorders, are receiving cancer treatment, are prone to keloid scarring, have fresh scars or wounds, or previously received radiotherapy to the treatment area. Discuss your medical history with us before treatment.
Reimbursement and consultation
Depending on your supplementary insurance, part of the treatment may be reimbursed. At F&A Medical Center, you can book an initial consultation in which we assess your skin and discuss a personal treatment plan.
